DEJLIGT + THREE IN ONE GENTLEMAN SUITE
Indie Garden 2006 - Ferrara (IT) - Sunday 13th august 2006
"...Tagliatelle al ragù guys?" what a lion's wakening!! We arrived one day earlier in Ferrara and after a savage night this is the excellent way for Dora to wake up Enrico and me in her den. It's a real special day and it's so nice to start it up with a full stomach and a lot of good ideas like: Rockn'Roll! On the way to the town's wall, Enrico and me meet in the centre Flavio, Antonio and Cristina (my official girlfriend...) and later on close to another quite posh bar we meet also Battisti and Sara among the Svaighel's clone with his girlfriend. I could spend the rest of this Matteite's page listing all the friends who have decided to come to enjoy this party: I didn't foresee all of this, I do feel extremely lucky! The sound check goes fine as the free bar for the musicians that we pretty much already tested yesterday. Zizza is filming and coordinating different video cameras with another colleague of hers while Fusa's mixing some canapés in the same time. We are relaxed and a bit done from yesterday but there's a really cool atmosphere; I 've been missing so much all the Ferrara crew from the recording session of "Feed The Dog" at the Natural Head Quarter recording studio: I foresee no repairable damages! At the dinner there so many of us, we can't stop to ask to the waitress to please add more chairs to the table. The flawless Three in One Gentleman Suite are starting to play on stage and inevitably Matteite gets fucking nervous trying to keep cool this anxiety first of all with a nice talk at the table with the funny Barbara from Torino and then with a Zen walk round the Town's wall with his colleague Piccione. Max Stirner's ready behind the mixer: as I was wondering before last April, he has been recording and mixing the songs that now we 're going to play live, so his point of view 'bout the gig is absolutely decisive! On stage sounds amazing, at the beginning we are quite tight but not groovy at all, probably for the excitement we're feeling or 'cause we want to make a good impression.Fortunately the audience is really hot; this energy will make our performance grow better and better, song-by-song. I miss Carolyn on stage, as I know that when the CD will be out she will be one of us again! At the coda of the last song "Cucina" the dj Miss Nina Vegas starts to play an orgy of songs tag-teaming with Enrico and some other funny Djs. It will be a crazy night also full of sweet unexpected events; by the way it will be so difficult to forget Dora, who, from behind her post at the bar says to the Matteite..."no Matteo, not her please." from the main course till the end!

DEJLIGT
Bagno Flora - Piazza Caboto - Lungo Molo - Viareggio (IT) - Friday 11th august 2006
Ok, we got past the slightly stressful (understatement) yet scattered terrorist attack that held us waiting on the plane after we landed for few hours at Heathrow Airport (UK), the little DEJLIGT's crew is already inside a new car straight on the way to Viareggio. This concert is gently organized by my all-time good friend Alessandro AKA Battisti. The location is a characteristic Italian beach installation with a cute ,small bar full of beer, ice cream, pizza by the slice and one stage, not so small but still quite filled by all the chairs. I know almost everybody here, as usually every summer I spend some relaxing days with Alessandro and his crazy girlfriend Sara. The sound engineer is the awesome Saviski that just recently became a father, so before setting up the stage, he left the place and ran away on his skateboard to buy a box of diapers - what a hero, uh huh! We're back home in Italy so we get to take our time doing an outstanding sound check and finally properly balancing our speaker's sound: after 4 gigs with out hearing anything onstage it seems that the usual stuff I play with my laptop sounds even different or new. But we are on the beach, so Enrico grants himself a swim while someone orders a pizza, beers and a fire wire cable that I 've lost somewhere else along the way. I can definitely feel the effect of the usual trip of bars post-dinner and pre-concerts, and we jump on stage trying to forget 'bout the audience's stone-cold attitude! At the sun rising I fall asleep on the sofa of the landlord of the club, hypnotized by the shadows and the roars of his two wolves: they are just beyond the blinds of his living room!...behind the curtain of this dark room, of this blue room ......

DEJLIGT + HONEYCHILD COLEMAN + NORTH GUINEA HILLS "Welcome To The Chicken Spot!"
SPUTNIK - Clinton Hill, Brooklyn - New York (U.S.) - Monday 7th august 2006
Ok, here we are at Sputnik and it's Monday. This time the line up has changed. We are have less people on stage 'cause the gig has been postdated and then unfortunately, Enrico has been not able to do the
same with his ticket, so with a general crew's bitterness, this afternoon he has stolen way to JFK! Before the gig, I meet Piccione with all our back line downstairs from Carolyn's flat. Honeychild, while still at her job sent, to me via e-mail the map to get to the promoter's studio in order to pick up some drum stands. As usual I move 'round by train, jump off at the expected subway stop in Brooklyn then start to walk on a street 'til I believe I've found the number 445. It's 2 weeks that I'm just hanging 'round alone by train, even in the middle of the night, but today, I don't know why,
but I don't feel so safe. It' s a side of Brooklyn like many others; kilometres of slightly smashed terraced houses full of black people suffering the heat 'til death, watching me walking on their streets from the typical entrance stairways and stoops. Some kids ask me for
cigarettes and then start to follow me and some other kids join in later on.In Byker Wall in Newcastle with the baby gang it's almost the same; if the first time the younger kids some tobacco or buy some beers, by and
large u are fine, but today's different, maybe 'cause I'm the one who's not relaxed at all...But let's get to Sputnik! Me and Piccione already prepared a set with no bass in case Enrico is busy with his principal band 3 Allegri, so offstage we're just waiting for the end of the North Guinea Hills's concert while Carolyn in the same time is taking care of the merchandising desk at the entrance and the super long guest list! We have some serious problems with the sound and the promoter of the night who is also the sound engineer is not able at all. We are missing the D.I and people can't hear my guitar. We do the sound by ourselves, but really do appreciate the extra help from Chris and Gary (The Lapse) as two extra sets of ears who will spend the rest of the night asking the sound engineer to put at least our voices in the P.A! Luckily ,even if it's Monday night, the alcohol level in the room is quite high so at the end of the songs, the audience feels free and screams to us stuff like "another one!"The night on stage ends with 2 amazing Honeychild songs with the Matteite backing her on drums and then a jam session of Gary, Eva, Chris and their friend which never begins, for the sound engineer's thumb is down and he has shut off everything. I will have another chance to hear Gary playing bass 'cause tomorrow after an amazing afternoon on the seaside at Long Beach (Long Island) with him and his girlfriend Eva, we will record in his studio in Ft. Greene (Brooklyn) some drums and the bass for the Honeychild song "Callus". And the Monday night kept going with a special funny talk with John (Barkmarket), Simon and the sweet Carolyn. I know that Davide (3 Allegri) has been filming pretty much almost all the time, so I hope one day we'll find a way to upload it to the Matteite.com site - especially the shot we did on the Staten Island Ferry boat during the last sun rising in the Big Apple!

DEJLIGT + HONEYCHILD COLEMAN (acustico) "Hanging Out On The Lower East Side"
HIROSHIMA CITY MEMORIAL EVENT- Open road park - East Village - New York (U.S.) - Sunday 6th August 2006 -
Sunday afternoon, and the appointment with the rest of Dejligt's team is'round 18:00HR (6PM) at the small Open Road Park in the East Village.Me and Carolyn we are just tuning our guitars in garden of the closest bar. My little head's a bit smashed and not even my the typical awakening these days of a Bagel and coffee could get me back on the right track.Last night I'd gone to Tonic to see Arto Linsday with Micah Gaugh both playing in his band as well as opening for him doing a solo set, then I'd been 'round in town 'til 10 in the morning with a crazy crew of film director friends of Karen. It's a Hiroshima City Memorial event tonight, so when we went back into the park, initially, we notice some Japanese musicians playing unusual instruments plugged into a lo-fi P.A. Pitch and Enrico eventually arrived as well. They are smoking a cigarette and I find them unusually cold mood-wise, or (in good faith) insecure for the situation (not only musically) and maybe it's a bit too experimental for them! It's an acoustic gig: guitar, bass and voices, for us.Someone might want to improvise something new during my set (I suspect is the fear of the crew) while Enrico is also scared that his style of playing bass without the support of the drum machine or live drums might not work at all. Anyway, we take a seat on a bench close to the tent that protects the small mixer and Pitch decides to do the sound for us. It's sunset time, and the organization lit and spread a lot of colorful little lanterns with candles 'round the garden, almost to gently and sweetly replace the audience. I observe their shadows reflecting on the building around us: It's so DEJLIGT! I finally relax a bit and let go of some distracting thoughts like for instance, that I've missed DJ Olive's set 'cause I got there too late. The gig goes nice and tight! Lorenzo's Theory that despite all the song's recorded arrangements on the CD, all the songs in general should stand alone live with only vocals and guitar has been proven. I do reckon that everything's pretty much clean and sweet during the gig, from our way of singing and playing to the reaction of the few present who are hiding themselves in the dark and yet clapping for us. There's a real nice, magical energy. At the end of the gig Carolyn tells the people that we are giving away some CDs for free, and in a minute 17 copies of the old promo disappear. Happily I put the perturbing man's guitar into the flight case. Right behind me, on the wall of a building actually quite small compared to the rest all around this block, they are starting to project some kind of short movies. I do feel like we are in an Oasis or in a sort of No Man's Land. A tall black woman says thanks for the CD and gives me some compliments for the sweet lyrics. She is in fact the lead singer and bassist for Faith (one of Carolyn's favorite bands, who also played this event earlier this afternoon) . I crack up (inside) 'cause most of the things I'm wondering about in my own lyrics are pretty cynical. Mission complete, see u tomorrow at the Sputnik!

DEJLIGT + Special Guest HONEYCHILD COLEMAN
CB´s GALLERY (Downstairs Lounge) - 315 Bowery - New York (U.S.) - Friday 4th August 2006 -
It has been already 1 week since our 1st New York City gig..... 1 really frenetic week and maybe also a little bit as delirious as this massive metropolis. The gang is crashing between Carolyn's, Kelly's and Karen's nests, all of 'em in Brooklyn, and although this sounds easy, in reality the distance between everyone's flats is immense, our Italian mobile phones sometimes work, sometimes not, and we pretty much often arrange impossible appointments or end up wasting a lot of
time (sometimes hours!) getting lost on the subway 'round Brooklyn and Manhattan. There's a big heatwave and the wish to get 18 showers daily becomes a necessity. Today we play again at CBGB's, but at the Gallery, same building, but the club nextdoor. Carolyn knows only the name of the promotion company, so we accepted this gig with the intention to invite some labels and obviously a lot of friends. Of course, tonight
a lot of bands are supposed to play but it's not a festival like last week so there's a general disinterest between the bands and all the different crews behind them. Obviously, we will only get to do a quick line check while at the same time, I am happy to realize that the sound engineer is still Zach (same as last week). And as much again I am unlucky and fuck up the U.S converter of my Farfisa. But there's no time at all, so no organ tonight....For the 1st time in my life, during the first 2 songs of the set, I just sing, holding myself up to the microphone stand and feeling totally awkward. The sound in the room is pretty balanced, but on stage it is pure shit. After the gig Elio and I quickly drop by Carolyn's to leave the backline then we jump back into a taxi to a club in the East Village where Kelly and Davide are waiting for us. The DJ is Tony, a friend of Carolyn's and really nice. We swap some cds then at the right moment (in the middle of a typical R'N'B / Hip Hop Mixn) surprise!! Tony plays a Dejligt song! Later on he also invites us to visit him during the week at his amazing Studio G in Brooklyn and maybe even record a song together. Then I discover that not only is Tony a really helpful person, was also the bass player of the awesome Pere Ubu. Let me tell u that this town has got it's own groove!

DEJLIGT + HONEYCHILD COLEMAN + VIOLATOR
CBGB´S - 1ST Annual 8rm Music Festival Safety Rocks - 315 Bowery - New York (U.S.) - Mercoledì 26 Luglio 2006 -
Yes we are in New York at JFK Airport - can you believe it?? It's lunchtime and the sun is painfully beautiful! We do not waste our time; we give a hug to the crazy Carolyn, who meets us here to accompany the Matteite, the amphibious cousin Elio and newly enlisted drummer and friend Piccione, halfway across Brooklyn just to leave our luggage at Honeychild's nest. Well I'm quite space out at the moment and I can't figure it out so much - maybe for the new time zone (jet lag) or perhaps cause I haven't slept so much during the past few days, but it seems like everything around me is kind of fake, like being in movie. It's unbelievably hot....I'm playing a walk-on role and I'm just walking on the street with some other walk-ons, too. We take the subway across the Williamsburg Bridge, leaving Brooklyn over our shoulder. Manhattan is just in front right there, unreal, waiting for us, together with the gig and an unforgettable night. Last time when I saw Enrico, it was in a back room in Treviso (Venice) and I definitely remember that we told each other something like "so... see you for the sound check at CBGBs..." so funny to me now as I am finally heding there, but that's what happened! On stage there are 2 massive monitors, and the sound Engineer Zach is really helpful and relaxed. I think it's around five in the afternoon and if we're lucky, maybe we'll do our concert after 10 other bands around 2 in the morning! Carolyn is quite exited! It's the first time that she has organized the 8RM Music Festival Safety Rocks and she's setting up an unreal merchandising table with her gigantic colleague Ellis and his beautiful girlfriend. So the first band of the night, JUNETEENTH, already rocks onstage while some friends of the sista that a know by fame since 98 are starting to get to club as well as Kelly, later on Chris Leo..and eventually most of the Brooklyn posse has arrived. We begin to properly warm up the night with a competitive shot of whisky on the rocks! I'm really tired yet pretty psyched! Last week Carolyn and I invited some labels to the show, too, but my stomach can't manage the savage air condicitionning, so as a real punk rocker, I just go down to the legendary toilette of CBGB's (same dirge since 1977) to do a photographic session, but not as a "model" per se.... But the night goes on! Bands switch and the vibe changes with each one. Around midnight CBGB's is quite packed, and pretty much on the hour, we always go out to have a cigarette on the Bowery, people watch, and then then go back inside the club again. Ok, now its our turn, and there are way less people left to see us, but all of our friends still stay as well as several curious strangers, guests and a few photographers. On stage is a totally mess, we can't hear anything and are little bit astray, but it's the 1st time for DEJLIGT with real, live drums and the 2nd time after the Odense (DK) gig with Carolyn. Micah (who I will see in few days later playing solo, live at Tonic as well as with Arto Linsday) is just below the foot of the stage with Danny (guitarist of Apollo Heights) screaming to us that the sound outside is cool! He quickly fixed up his saxophone, jumped onstage and then followed us with a crazy, powerful improvised solo that lasted until the end of the show! All right, well done! this time I've been able to jam and sing with a continuous and lethal, amazing solo sax 10 centimetres from my left ear. What a trip guys! The night moves on till 11 in the morning Thursday - between the bars of Max Fish and Pianos, cameras forgotten in a taxi, new girl friends became immediate enemies, a private party in a NoLita restaurant that a random guy opened just for us and ultimately, the especially the wonderful and unbelievably massive loft of Kellys.First night in New York and pretty much in the mix folks!!!

> DEJLIGT + special guest HONEYCHILD COLEMAN Dejligt - Beat the Gong live (Odense - DK, 20th May 2006)
Havnefestival - Odense (DK)- 20th May 2006
So after I decided last November 2005 to name this project Dejligt (Kent's favorite Danish word) sooner or later it became inevitable that I will play in this Viking land. After all, it's been more then 10 years that I have come to visit this country on a regular basis, but this time I'm not alone: in addition to Enrico, Carolyn unbelievably managed to take a last minute flight from Paris, so for the first time the three of us are on stage. I left my blue jumpsuit full of fiberglass at Kent's farm so I could wear the orange one from the Guantanamo prisoners that Amnesty International gave me. It's crazy, we totally look like Devo!! It's the first gig since we finished recording the new album "Feed the Dog", but we're still playing the old set...same songs yet mostly acoustic and electro. I can't wait to do more of this stuff live with real drums in addition to the drum-machine and maybe with another freak to help me with another keyboard, so we can properly perform the new album, but until then, we'll have to bear with this amazing trip, eh! These days with the genius of this site, Marisa and her daughter Emily, and also all the other days we spent later on in Copenhagen were pretty special. Dejligt keep's growing pretty rapidly so we're trying to balance and relax, but the truth is that we 're full of ideas and we're really working a lot to make them happen all...Skål!

Byker wall's swimming pool -Newcastle upon
Tyne (UK)- 28th April 2006
Right..I'm still not sure how it came to be that I am
feeling good enough to be writing about this day at
the Byker Wall's swimming pool. Ca va, because in reality, I've got a reason, and it's such a good one 'cause it's been so genial, emotional, and somewhat of a nice trip inside of someone else's trip! Clara got  the keys from the City Council to this magical place of  leisure, conveniently located just below her flat in Byker, and she started to take 2000 photographs, shoot film footage, and make some installations. She 's going to graduate in Art and Design at the Sunderland University soon and as part of her final thesis, she invited me to record the sound of some of  swimming pools around this area! So after a coach night, lost flights, and sleepwalking at 6 in the morning, I've had the honour to have a sneak preview inside the most romantic and surreal place of the year (and perhaps this town). From the first impression, the environment looks cold, dark, and dirty... I can see old newspaper from '91 on the floor of the pool. This is pretty much the case 'til we arrive at the main door of the swimming pool and open it. We take in a deep breath in awe of the unbeliable light and the special emotion.basically we feel really fucking lucky... Clara's movement is nimble and she's instantly at ease 'cause she already spent several entire days inside this enormous room waiting for different sunrises or sunsets, in one way doing her licit photographer's trip! I drag out a school desk into the middle of this gigantic pool, trying to figure out where I need to place my condenser microphone. I play with some wires, teeing them up to a roll of tape (obviously blue), so I  start to toss 'em up into the air trying to attach them up to the roof, mission completed! I tie the microphone to the tape roll and  start pulling the wire 'til the microphone gets really high. At this point I wear the headphones and I have the gain on my sound card pretty much open so I can clearly hear the middle of the noise of the metro and cars from outside to a quiet, sweet noise, projecting myself straight into the real swimming pool's sound environment, which is absolutely amazing! The snapping noise is provocated by Claringite, who is slowly walking on some dry leaves 30 meters from the Matteite. Nothing's new; at the end I'm just helping her to do a job, but it's such a pleasant recreation. We spin in circles around the mic and the pool, scouting in silence. This place is much too massive to make us feel alone..all  we have to do is just to take a look around us and 1 million  ideas become the best audience.....

> DEJLIGT
Natural Head Quarter Recording studio
-Ferrara (ITA) - 17-24 April 2006

Obviously for the Matteite it's not the first time
inside a recording studio, but after this new,
cosmical, spiritual experience he can officially
suss out that it's not going to be even the last
time. Even if I don't have much money and
consequently the days we can spend in the studio are
not so many, work hours seem pleasantly endless,
perhaps based upon the generosity and professionalism
of all the team or much more for the evident collective
serenity. Throughout the beginning of the job the
team is camped out between two different stuffed
(isolated) rooms (the only one who's pretty much
going all the time in both of the rooms is Enrico
Molteni also called Mr Balance for his relaxing
company). Inside the 1st main room we can discover a
really concentrated Fusa ready to bring a ride on
the waves of sounds, boarding his prestigious mixer
Neve! In the same time in the 2nd recording room we
can observe singing an agitated Matteite
supported by two unavailable and unexpected
believers of Jesus Christ: The sound engineer
Enrico"Fungolo" Berto and the singing and diction
teacher Carolyn "Weezy" Coleman. So it should be for
all the daily litres of Carolyn's magic Throat Coat
potion (liquorice tea with honey) or perhaps for
the stress accumulated during the last precious but
easily tired editing week on Enrico Berto's studio
or much more for the regiment of Hormones that can
clouds my last few neurons, but there's a strange
euphoria mixed it up with pure lunacy that reigns
royally inside this small room of Ferrara. Every time
that Matteite gets naked 'cause he forget to
pronounce correctly one "TH", the teacher and the
sound engineer close their eyes, they plug their ears
and they do a swing dance like in a lunatic asylum
singing Gospel songs and doing Bronx cheer in the name of Jesus, amazing! But during the last days of mix the situation gets crazy also in Fusa's room! Now it's down to just me and him in front of the Neve (All the others left days ago); I'm pretty much happy first of all 'cause after I spent ages having my hard disc full of songs now for the really first time I've got the chance to listen to 10 of those songs exactly sounding like I had dreamed they would; secondly, 'cause I'm getting to know Fusa and spending many special hours together and (lastly), more 'cause in the middle of the job we leave the studio to go to Zuni (club) to look for girls who might want to do some back-vocals and end up meeting Sara plus Sara plus Sara plus Zizza plus Guido plus Andù (Undue- Fusa's beautiful and intelligent dog!). I hope I will find a massive van for the tour with a massive driver trained to managed all these freaks I will bring with me 'round.

Dejligt + Sniper Kiss + Bias-Cicci-Michelino + Jumbo Geisha
Sacile (PN) (ITA)- Saturday 4th march 2006 - @ CASA DEGLI ALPINI - Elena and Polla's birthday party
Perfect ! It seems that I have started off this week's series of concerts with a private party. Actually, it's quite weird ‘cause usually Matteite doesn't like to play at home at all, especially on some stage where he cannot hear himself properly …But It's all right, in particular, more recently in fact, because day by day he loves more and more to randomly challenge or prove himself ..... For instance, a feeling like when in Newcastle, I'm going daily to bring a pack of skins to that wild pub even if all my friends recall that owners there don't really like foreigners at all, or when in general you totally give up to smoking cigarettes and then, when you get clean and saved, you just start smoking freely again, beginning the night with cheap yet strong wine and finishing with Guiness, feeling completely in love but always looking for somebody else..basically...randomly confused! By the way this is a birthday party, and I know most  everyone here.... I also discover where Elena and Paola hid some bottles of gin in the kitchen. My Organ doesn't work so well, but who cares? It's two in the morning... Elena sits close to me while some friends like Braccettolo enjoy the gig and create a nice atmosphere, too. I feel fine. Nobody will give you back all this time you wasted…

Trieste (ITA)- Monday 27th February 2006 - THE GRADUATE @ ETNO BLOG

Trieste, Etno Blog, it's the graduation party of Tony and Francesca and also the end of the carnival week. Everybody's already smashed since early this afternoon and they all love wearing  wild carnival costumes. I'd like to look crazy too but I ‘m so full of rum and coke that I stumble into the toilette wiping out on my sister's sixties skirt …The scenario is quite casual...the boring people who rented the venue for this party are coming up to the console like, every 5 minutes, complaining about the volume of the music...we don't even know when we're suppose to play and probably  don't care too much about it…After a long time Enrico is on stage with me again, he wears a massive fake pair of red glasses and has some big news:  for the very first time he's gonna play bass with Dejligt…In the UK I was alone on stage, so I built up a brand new set less acoustic and more electro, so this time around, we try to do the same leaving banjos and bongo soup at home. We play 3 songs, fair enough, the sound is crap, I'm drunk and I want to go to dance and talk with the sweetest mignon girl of the party.

Dejligt + Apollo Heights + Brothers Yemen + Honeychild
Londra, Mayfair (GB) - Saturday 11th February 2006 - CLUB 43 -
Bingo! The Japanese-English-American-Italian crew has the chance to rock another time. At the beginning of this trip we're just half of the team: Dejligt + Brothers Yemen; we take a special break in Helen's parents' place who they live in a cute little village close to Robin Hood's side of Nottingham! What a delightful dinner! What a funny evening full of spirits, cigarettes and a lot of special English humour. Cameron's Clio is completely full of…Tibetans bells, little organs, marmalades…we're listening to KISS at the maximo volume! Club 43 looks like a posh place, for the first time in UK we have a catering with a lot of bottles of white wine. When Apollo Heights get to the club four hours late (they have some problems on the immigration office on the English border) in the same time Brothers Yemen's set  start ‘em psychedelic, and intimate . During my show It seems like the atmosphere's less classy, people actually moving a bit closer to the stage, I feel free and comfortable even during the most depressive moment of the set. Throughout Apollo's set I give away some promo CDs to those who enjoyed my concert …I meet Jim and some girls who have become curious for my obviously not English accent. I miss Enrico but I confirm to myself…right, now I really do feel ready, it's time to record the first Dejligt album ever!

DEJLIGT + MARZURAAN + LIKE A KIND OF MATADOR
Leeds (GB)
- Saturday 21st January 2006 - Fenton -
Leeds! I've never been here so I have absolutely to say thanks to my sweet friend Rob (Mazuraan) and the promoter of the night Sned that added Dejligt at the last minute to this noise festival. Even if tonight Brothers Yemen are not playing, they are obviously coming down anyway to see Mazuraan's gig, so me and the wise Andrea we have the chance to jump into Cameron's car. Fenton seems to be quite a  big and busy pub...upstairs on top of a sliding staircase there's another satanic room where some noise extreme bands are already expressing themselves properly! I feel happy and confused in the same time, even if I really do love noise, Dejligt's stuff is pretty much pop and acoustic. I quickly connect my equipment on stage, singing by myself "Never go back"  just to exorcise this night (voodoo mess style). I'm quite scared to have my show in this particularly wild contest. Fuck that! I play my first song Cucina, just guitar and voice, depressive lyrics for a maybe sinking audience…It works then people are starting to come up from the pub downstairs…Later on I'm having a pint feeling fine ‘cause my Brothers Yemen's friend Bish is telling me that especially during my last two songs with the Farfisa, the room was pretty much packed! Don't be shy give us a try …

+ APOLLO HEIGHTS + BROTHER YEMENS
Newcastle (GB), Friday 20th January 2006 - Egypt Cottage

>To view Honeychild Coleman's Diary
I landed in the Giordieland two days earlier. Enrico has rightly stayed behind in Italy to work with “Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti”. I'm having a pint of cider during Apollo Heights' sound check trying so difficultly to relax myself at the same time. I'm surrounded by some really good friends in addition to Apollo's crew: Andrea, Clara and Nina; and after all these ages, my ex-Giordie flat mates from the Brighton Grove crew, Brothers Yemen, who will play tonight onstage as well. The club is really busy in decor: the ceiling upstairs is full of painted clouds. I just sit alone on a dark side of the club observing this fake sky and recognizing that it disagrees with me. Usually that's not my style; this is not Matteite's world! Friends are coming in loop to me as Pilgrim Father and it seems they do love to remark  that I've got a pale-greenish face. All right it's my turn now and it's the first time alone on stage ever! I kick off all the ghosts inside and outside myself, I take a glass of orange juice and here we have Spiderman by now dancing and singing, as he loves. He decides to head-butt his 1975 farfisa organ for the entire show and something special is happening here - paradoxically I do feel 100% like myself!

+ APOLLO HEIGHTS
Dublino  (IRL), Thursday 5th January 2006 - Eamon Doren

>To view Honeychild Coleman's Diary
We had a nice sleep last night even if I can't remember much about the end of it…Enrico is already awake, he reads a book sitting on the side of Carolyn's blow up mattress. Daniel and Carolyn share the sofa close to us instead of Hayato and Marie, who perhaps are still sleeping in the only other room of this apartment. Dublin is an amazing place. We leave the American-Japanese crew in front of an Internet point, full of enthusiasm, then me and Enrico start this trip around the city centre. It's full of people on all kinds and it reminds us London. Most of the time I'm just looking at beautiful girls and so many have red hair and freckles and  I feel so unbelievably great. I buy a cap, Enrico some cds then pretty starving we get into a take away just on the corner of the Eammon Doren. The venue is quite big and it has got various huge floors. Outside there are some guys doing rap in the street, inside there are already Henry and another young Irish girl called Eily who is supposed to play second tonight. So this day decays in an orgy of beers and Irish whisky, the only antidote to calm ourselves before the gig. Finally tonight we have the audience (thanks to Kevin). I do feel comfortable on stage perhaps because I just try to be myself, asking to the sound engineer Steve to have more guitar in my monitor or talking with the nice audience between Dejligt's songs, forgetting about my crazy accent or any similar kind of usual but boring doubts. Through the last two songs with the farfisa people dance (recently it's starting to be a lucky routine), Enrico says there's also an half naked girl who danced in front of the stage who I cannot focus on til the beginning of the amazing Apollo Heights gig. My sista Carolyn looks so good and she knows the way to be balanced up there. So the party just starts! I can't believe that less then a month a go we did our1st Dejligt gig in Italy, I certainly feel jammy… Rock n'roll and please… do not stop to feed the freaks!

> DEJLIGT + APOLLO HEIGHTS
Dublino (IRL), Wednesday 4th January 2006 - Voodoo Lounge
Happy New Year! 9:00 in the morning, Treviso airport, no one had any sleep last night, we are totally excited, touchy and we can't deem as true that we're going to do our 13th gig in Dublin. Throughout the day we feel like we're in a doctor's waiting room, waiting and waiting...On the way to the venue our curiosity grows when an Irish taxi driver tells us that the Voodoo Lounge is a famous place in Dublin. On the door outside the pub there are some posters; it seems that last week Shane McGowan from Pogues did a DJ set here. We are scared to be late so we get in, then figure out that Apollo's Crew is waiting for us. I know just Carolyn from them and I recall that last time I've seen her it was maybe six years a go. The crew gets completely happy and enthusiastic to see us. The singer Daniels screams straight to Carolyn on stage something like…”hey sista, Matteo is here!!…”I give her a sound hug feeling like last time happened it was last week. The promoter Kevin's sorting out the merchandising table and while he invites to us to have a pint of Guinness he also explains that tonight's going to be a quiet evening. Ticket's costs 10 Euros: we will have practice for tomorrow, fair enough! Anyway we do feel lucky ‘cause we're quite a big crew, and in addition to  us and Apollo, there's Henry (an Irish singer Kevin invited open the gig), the kind sound engineer Thor and some of Kevin's friends …It's gonna be all right

> DEJLIGT + MELT
Valdagno (Vicenza) (ITA), Friday 30th december 2005 - BUKOWSKI

We cross a tunnel driving inside for no more then half and hour till we arrive to this small, cute Village called Valdagno. It's snowing and it's so nice to seeit, but it's also freezing so instead so we challenged ourselves to empty Melt's van quickly so that we can talk about the weather  inside with the Owners of Bukowski, Matteo and Franco. This is the last gig with Melt so tonight I will not sleep in Teno's.  Tomorrow at this time I will maybe already drinking in the centre of Ljubljana. We finish the promo on the merchandising table, and one fucked up but funny girl stops the Dejligt gig confusing us for Melt! Someone pays me, Enrico leaves the place with Daniela and I get to the bar with Teo, Pierasko and some other nice girls.

Thiene (Vicenza), Thursday 29th december 2005 -
COCCO BONGO
It's been already 24 hours together with the Melt's crew and I do feel really good; they are amazing people and their show is pure dynamite. Teo, Melt's bass player, wears this massive Texas boots with the longest tips in town; I've never stopped to watch those feet moving in time. I've never stopped being jealous about it! About the rest of the night? You know it was such a crazy traffic jam of spirits, wine and girls that they will never take you for a ride on the moon!?

> DEJLIGT + LO STRANO FRUTTO
Thiene (Vicenza) (ITA), Wedensday 28th december 2005 - BISTROT CAFE'

Ok, after the exclusive and competitive Dainese's Christmas party, we are on the beat again ready to rock for another 3 gigs around Vicenza before the end of this savage year. This time we don't need to take a train, Enrico drives for the family throwing in the middle his comfortable car. Step by step the Delight's crew gets bigger, now also Pierasco is one of us prepared to tune my guitar even if he never stopped to eat after the Christmas lunch. At The Bistrot café everything is fine; There's a funny sixties DJ Bonzo who likes to play music pretty much louder then an AC-DC gig, Teno's guitar sounds really like Dinosaur Jr but it's missing those fucking little balls on the neck, so I've never caught the same chord once. " One of these days I'm gonna learn to play and write myself a song…any day now…”

> DEJLIGT
Trieste (ITA), Friday 23rd december - IGUANA

So today is the day, Dejligt is playing for the first time in Trieste, in his region. Even not the day off after the flight from Catania relaxed himself. He's looking forward for this gig since the day he picked up the phone starting to booked gigs ‘round. So, obviously he's quite anxious. We have a nice fast dinner with our friends Lorenzo and Ambra (Iguana Owner's) then we leave their sweet den just to get together at the reknown Iguana. I do believe that a lot of friends are already on the way to the venue. Five minutes before the gig I meet Clara; later I spend all the rest of the concert pretty much happy, remembering that two years before I wrote 90% of Dejligt stuff under her roof in Newcastle…Merry Christmas! Another crazy year is almost gone; I'm quite ready to rock this closer New Year's Eve party!

> DEJLIGT + ZERO IN CONDOTTA
Catania (ITA) - Tuesday 20th december 2005 - LA CHIAVE

Yes! We are in Catania and our friend promoter Carmelo is already waiting for us outside of the train station. It's almost ten years that we've known each other. I do love him but every time it's like the first time, you never know where u will drink the last one eh! La Chiave is a really nice jazzy place, truly one of my favourites of this tour, so I decide to invite to my friend Livia and her band to open up for us, just to make party together. But there are some bureaucratical problems so when we are on stage the sound engineer disappears. I do improvise myself, connecting some stuff in the mixer, but as a nice ending story, the one who really saves us is the famous local musician Cesare Basile, who, without thinking too much is already behind the mixer working for the family. Well done!

Reggio Calabria (ITA) - Monday 19
th december 2005 -
MULTI KULTI
What a cute place! It's the Aperitif time and it's not cold, so some folks are waiting and sitting on the pavement outside. I'm pretty much destroyed; I haven't slept for two days. During the gig it's a kind of tragedy, I cannot play guitar, my voice sounds like I'm fucking shy and not able to sing at all. Learn by mistake. I try to apologize like: “sorry guys, but last night I've been celebrating my birthday…” but no one cares about it and I do agree with them, it's not absolutely a nice show to see. Later on we have a pizza and we do our first interview with Gaia, then we run to the cinema to watch King Kong trying to forget this senseless day.

> DEJLIGT
Cosenza (ITA)- Sunday 18th december 2005 - B-SIDE

It's been raining since the day I left. Now I'm officially thirty years old, ready to spend most of the day changing 4 different lines of train to get back to the north of Calabria. We're tired, and always so scared to forget some equipment inside the train that at one place we notice that we left Enrico's saw. I don't know how but I find it out by phone in Lamezia train police station, then I convince our friend Fabio to drive there just to bring that miraculous saw back to us. But it seems that today is the unlucky one, maybe it's time to transform myself into Spiderman and fight this hell because on the way back to us, Fabio has a massive car accident, then Daniela feels sick and goes to the hospital with Enrico! God I need some magic potion! It's my birthday party; I need to forget this mess. So after the gig I do start a bar's tour ‘round Cosenza. I meet Laura for the first time, I forget to sleep and like a strange movie some hours later I'm waiting for another train again!

> DEJLIGT
Gioiosa Jonica (RC) (ITA)- Saturday 17th december 2005
- BLUE DAHLIA
Ok here we arrive in the smallest train station of the tour! Five minutes by foot on the seaside and we are in Blue Dahlia. I can't remember right now how many times I have been playing and drinking in this crazy venue, but I' m so happy ‘cause I remember that tonight at midnight I will become a thirty year old vampire and I will not be strong when faced with the massive selection of the rum of Ruggero. He's the boss of the place and he knows the way in which to prepare cocktails and let you forget the way you got there in the first place.

> DEJLIGT
Catanzaro Lido (ITA), Friday 16th december 2005
- TONNINAS
Ok as we supposed, day by the day, we‘re heading more into the south. Today is the day of Tito and Massimo, two promoters who are really nice and generous! They do love nice food such as fresh fish; they like to let you feel at home. Massimo's bar it's a massive pub, full of people having a burger and a pint while listening to our depressive set without complaining so much eh! It's a kind of victory for us uh! Someone people are coming to the merchandising desk-buying our promo and some pins too…fantastic. By the way, since this is my diary, I have to confess to myself that the best thing during this two days is actually taking pictures on the see side, relaxing in the restaurant, waiting for the next train without thinking so much, absolutely chill-out recreation!

> DEJLIGT
Salerno (ITA), Thursday 15th december 2005 - MUMBLE RUMBLE

This is the second gig organized by Paolo. First of all we have a fast burger in a little bar. After this we take 2 different, old slow trains and one taxi to get straight to the Mumble Rumble. It's not the first time for me here, I' m actually waiting for some friends, and usually friends bring some others friends too. But it seems I ‘m already starting to get crazy; Enrico says that it's been 24hours that I'm just wondering about merchandising, vulva, feeling either in random or in the mix, scared to transform into Spiderman at the wrong time, etc! Nothing's wrong, don't worry guys this is the Matteite (Matteo's disease) and I'm fine. It's just the second gig and I already do feel as if I left Dainese's nest ages a go. I' m watching people dancing during the last song, I'm smiling at the sweet Daniela who is documenting us these days with her faithful camera.

> DEJLIGT
Castellammare di Stabia (NA) (ITA), Wednesday 14th december 2005 - GIAGAMA´
Ok here we go Folks! This is the beginning of the first little tour of DEJLIGT around south of Italy. We are close to Naples, the local promoter is Paolo Traverso and I make out pretty well how much he helped us to find these 2 gigs.Ok, so we don't have an album out and we barely asked for any money to get to fool around, but maybe nobody will come to the show,... so it's a kind of bet: Paolo loves this as the boss of the venue. Piero loves to make a party anyway and keeps up a heavy rotation , filling our glasses with good white wine. There's another band playing before then us, and Giovanni (the singer) has a lovable, amazing voice and he's playing guitar so gently that I really do feel like I' m a freak when I do the same on stage. Speakers in the venue are so small that I can't believe my eyes but I'm laughing so much because every time the dj has a chance he is playing the most unbelievably tacky stuff. But now we are doing our show and sound's really all right. The audience is wonderful, drinking and listening so curiously to our songs. I feel good, playing and looking ahead at the same time that I must roll by train for another week to the end of this funny continent!

> DEJLIGT
F
errara (ITA), 9th december 2005 - ZUNI
This is the first gig of DEJLIGT! This is my first gig singing and playing guitar ever! I have been working so much to find gigs during the last month that I forgot to consider “what does it mean to get on stage? Feeling like emotion can be one of your worst enemies, etc”. By the way now we are on stage and after a couple of songs I' m already inside this new magical weird trip! It's such a strange feeling guys! Enrico is my favourite cicerone, I can't imagine anybody else better then him joining me on this mission. He's so sweet, tight and looks definitely relaxed. He knows where I m trying to take him eh eh …Highway to hell …
